And for your information John Fucking Kaiser Maurice is as much of a prick as Seth Fucking Silver" she didn't really mean that last one, but it didn't mean she was going to take it back. She was too pissed for that. "And I'm not going to have any kind of relationship with Maurice so stop acting as though I was getting married with him or something!"
"And besides, you're not supposed to go out with him!"
"Then with whom?" she snapped. "Because, somehow, I can't see any other boys that I could go out with and not make you act like a total jerk" she added haughtily. Not really knowing why and neither caring Oione stormed out of the shop.
Jesus, I really need a drink...., but instead she took some of Aether's chocolate since that was the only thing she'd got.

Seth stared at Oione, mouth hanging open slightly, face even paler than it was normally.

He watched as she stormed out
"Yeah, well you're a....a.....I am not a bloody prick!" He smashed his fist into the magazine rack, sending numerous copies of Teen Fling Thing and The Weakly World News whizzing by them, stopped by the feet of a few curious shoppers. He glared at them, fury pouring from his eyes. "It's not a fucking show, you know!" They scattered, and Seth turned back to Oione. "Well, that's because...." She was gone. "I freaking like you." Thank god she hadn't heard that one, he thought, and polished off Aether's chocolate.

Charra raised an eyebrow at Aether, hoping that Oione had heard that one. The chocolate was working, she just hoped it wasn't to late to fix what Oione had done. Aether's face had gone from red to pink, and the beast inside of her was calming. It was like a wolf lived in that girl, she thought. And Oione had taken the chocolate too. "Why didn't you date Silver, if you needed a deatheater?" Charra asked tentatively? "Wouldn't it have been maybe, more convenient?

"What?" Oione eyes went wide as though Charra's asked her why didn't she want to go out with a chocolate frog. "How on earth could I date Seth?! My parents already hate him and I just want to get rid of Rodion...and besides...he's not like that. He'd rather die than date me" she finished a bit bitterly. "He probably doesn't even think of me as a friend..."

Aether had calmed down a bit, but after that comment, she just got agry again. "You deaf little bat!" She copiedd the English insult. "He JUST SAID HE LIKES YOU!!! Now fucking why don't you notice these things? Isn't it obvious?" Charra cracked up, then grabbed Aether by the shoulders and pulled her back. "Calm down. little one," She said. "It's alright, don't worry. They'll figure it out." Walking towards them, her long reach pulling them together, he growled. "Talk. Aether and I will be in the coffeeshop nearby."

Oione raised a politely bewildered eyebrow at Aether as though the other girl was drunk or something.
"He JUST SAID HE LIKES YOU!!! Now fucking why don't you notice these things? Isn't it obvious?" "No, it's fucking not obvious." she said automatically feeling angry with Aether and Charra. When did he say he liked her? "Well. I kind of like him too" said Oione in a small voice."But we're friends, friends are supposed to like each-other" Ha.As if you could 'kind of' like Seth Silver.
"Talk. Aether and I will be in the coffee-shop nearby." She was really wondering what has gotten in those two girls today. She watched, bit shocked as Charra pulled Aether to the said coffee-shop. Then, feeling less comfortable than she would like to feel, she took a sideways glance at Seth, as though afraid what she might see. "So...er" Oh, yeah, great. Really eloquent that one was, Oione.

Seth had exited the store just in time to hear Aether's outburst and Oione's confession of "kind of" liking him. He stopped dead, eyes wide, mouth flapping open like a deranged form of guppy.
"What?" He snapped, crossing his arms and throwing a filthy look in the direction Chang and Mantel had run off to. Just like them to leave him alone with Oione in a time like this. He blew the hair out of his face and turned back to Oione.
"So, er....friends?" That hadn't exactly come out as he meant it to.

Oione raised her eyes on Seth looking half dissappointed and half relieved. "Yeah, yeah. Friends" she said in a bright tone, she didn't expect him to state something so plainly obvious, but on the other hand perhaps for him it wasn't. "So...maybe we should go and get Charra and Aether?" Oh my God, she didn't really expect that she would be feeling so uncomfortable with Seth of all people. And suddenly it hit her, rather painfully. "You really are a Death Eater?" it wasn't the same as in Kaiser's case-that was only pretending she liked him. And now she couldn't help but feel a bit cheated. She knew that Seth wanted to follow his father, but she didn't expect him to do it so fast.

"Erm...." Pretending to pick imaginary lint from his black robes, Seth said hesitantly, "If you count going to meetings, then...yes. But I haven't been, you know, marked, yet. I'm still only fifteen, and they don't want any real Death Eaters under the age of sixteen." He shrugged, tugging a strand of hair nervously.
Seth wasn't quite sure what Oione would make of this. She had made it clear a long time ago that she had absolutely no intention of chosing that particular path, but, for some reason, he felt he had cheated her somehow more than angered her. Kaiser's a Death Eater, isn't he? A small, indigant little voice in the back of his head cried out. She's going with him, isn't she? And he's one of them, a real one, too.

Oione just stood there watching Seth, feeling cheated. He made himself clear about his future plans, but she didn't expect him to join so fast and most importantly without telling her. She wasn't angry, she couldn't be. She decided that it would be better without discussing his reasons. At some level she envied him, that he was so determined and that he knew what he wanted to do whereas she was still in between. She didn't want to ask him why he hadn't told her earlier about it, feeling that it would sound incredibly crappy.
"But you've just turned sixteen" she said, without even having the intention to."They're going to mark you soon, aren't they?"

"Keep forgetting that," Seth muttered, rubbing his left forearm. He just didn't feel any older. How the hell was he supposed to remember it? "Dunno. Guess they will." To Seth, it really didn't matter much whether he was marked or not. He wasn't exactly anticipating the marking ceremony, but he also knew it was probably going to happen someday soon, perhaps over the summer. Oh, well, just another reason not to go home.
Realizing that he was still stroking the spot on his forearm where the mark of the Dark Lord would one day be tatooed, Seth jerked his hands away, looking up to face Oione. "Erm..." He cleared his throat almost nervously, fists shoved in his pockets. "I didn't mean to, you know, yell at you in the store like that. I just kind of....well you kind of pissed me off."
That was the closest thing she would be getting to an actual apology, and Seth felt rather proud at having been able to force even that out of himself.

Oione blinked several times, still not quite believing what she was hearing. Was he apologizing? What the hell for? They yelled at each-other on more occassion than one and all was forgiven and forgotten without apologizing. "You don't have to apologize or something" she said brightly. "I kind of snapped too. Didn't know you'd react like that. Perhaps I shouldn't have told you" She shrugged. Actually when she fought with Seth she knew that everything was alright, sometimes by some twisted reason known only to her, she pissed him off intentionally. Now, when they were so ridiculously nice to each-other it seemed awkward and unnatural.

Seth watched Oione out of the corner of his eye, pretending to be interested by the televisions on display in the window of a department store across the street. He wanted to ask her so badly. Did she like him-like him or just like him as a friend? This was too complicated. Seth was used to easy decisions---listen to Augustus or pay dearly, join the Death Eaters or die, misbehave in class because, well, he felt like it. It was so easy to say no to other people, so easy to do as he pleased as long as he knew the choice he was making would be better for him in the short run. Just about the hardest decision he could remember making was deciding what to have for a morning drink---Smirnoff or firewhiskey? That had been a very difficult decision, it had.
But this, this was different. If he was reading things wrong, if he gave too much away, he could destroy his entire friendship with Oione, and probably with Mantel and Chang as well, seeing as the only thing that---in Seth's mind---kept them friends was their mutual friendship with Oione.

This was just ridiculous. Now she really hoped they would get pissed at each-other or something, something, anything that would clean the atmosphere between them. It was so awkward it felt unnatural. Oh, c'mon, Oione. It's just Seth. It's always so easy to talk to Seth But, apparently it wasn't. Where the hell was Mantel when you needed a girltalk?
